| Have you all seen the notice on PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor that PHP 4 is reaching it's end of life? I wonder how web hosts will adjust to this and if they'll change to PHP 5 or 6. That could create a lot of work for people as a number of PHP 4 apps won't work on 5 or 6. What do you all think? EDIT: I found this great, simple resource on PHP 6: http://pooteeweet.org/files/mysqluse...next_level.pdf Last edited by Lee : 07-27-2007 at 04:08 PM. | I'd say that hosts should have upgraded to PHP 5 by now... Honestly, it introduced a fair bit of useful features from what I've read. I'll be looking forward to PHP 6, but in the meantime, I need to work on PHP knowledge in general! __________________ "C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do it blows your whole leg off." -- Bjarne Stroustrup, creator of what is now known as C++ For more quotes by Bjarne Stroustrup, check out http://www.research.att.com/~bs/bs_faq.html#really-say-that. |

I just looked a glace about PHP6 from the link, it seems that it will have a little bit of change in the class declaration, and it supports inheritance (more like a real language instead of scripting language!) PHP Code: Last edited by HelloWorld : 07-27-2007 at 04:58 PM. |
