I just got a book on programming role playing games in DirectX, 847 pages packed with information on how to do everything like playing sounds, weapons inventory's etc, also gives information on how to make it multiplayer compatible and other things, from what i have seen you make the game through the book, learning how everything is done and how you should implement different things before bringing it together into a small playable game then you can make your own from what you have learnt, trust me there's a lot to learn!

They do use C++ yes, i dont really know how much of what you need to know, C++ basics and a good mind for programming i guess, you know java a bit so that will help you in your pattern of thought if you know what i mean?

I will soon find out what i need to look at more and look into them when i find out as this is something of great intrest to me.

But not only need to be comfortable with programming languages, but Game Development always require a pretty good talent in art sigh... lol... How do you do to create those characters? Background etc...? XD

Torque has Adventure pack or whatever for game developers, but it's expensive. I think it's better if we can create it ourselves because it will be unique

You just need to practise with photoshop or something, there are other programs available to make 3D objects like Maya but I'm not up to learning Maya, i am just going to practise my creativity in photoshop, its good compared with most i think but its still a mile off being as good as a game developers is.

Practise makes perfect.

Do you know this game called Geometry Wars? I think it's only available in Windows Vista though
