It was in the ACM Communications within the last 4 months. Basically, OCR programs are getting to be very intelligent making the CAPTCHA algo need revision (CAPTCHA is a concept, our implementation using graphics is just one way that it can be done - other ways include solving puzzles, choosing a preselected icon that you and only you know, etc.)

I don't join any of the SIGs. Just don't have the time. When I had the extra $100, I got access to the Digital Library and then signed up for notifications. That gave me all the articles from the SIGs that I cared about. I don't have access this year - money's been a lot tighter
