A bit off topic, but need help with FireFox

OK. Here's the deal. Earlier today my FireFox was working just fine. I took a nap. Wife was on the comp (FireFox is default browser, so she was using FF) while I was sleeping. I get up and FF no longer has a status bar. I tried doing a system restore - couldn't for some reason (probably deleted cache). I tried uninstalling FF and reinstalling - didn't work. I checked on Google - no help. Anyone have a clue? I'd love to get a clue myself.

I'm running FireFox 2.0.0.4 and haven't installed any software in about a week (and have rebooted since the last software was installed). Last thing installed was Rappelz, the game, and I upgraded ZoneAlarm to
ZoneAlarm Security Suite version 7.0.337.000

If there's anything else you need, just let me know. I'd love to get this resolved. Oh, and I ran the ZoneAlarm virus and spyware scan with nothing found.

I just turned off all of the plugins and re-enabled them one-by-one. I found that the Google Toolbar addon was causing an error in "gre/res/hiddenWindow.html" so I uninstalled it and restarted FF - still no status bar, though.

you didn't mention

Tools -> Options -> Content -> Advanced ... -> "Hide the status bar" check box

OMG!!!! I'm such a dope! There's an option in View->Status Bar that turns it on and off. ROFLMAO (at myself!!!)

Well, at least it's resolved and the next person will be able to figure this out. lol.

We overlapped. That option wasn't checked, but it's definitely good to have in mind to check (I didn't even know that option was there). Thanks a ton! I'd give it to you through the Thanks button, but I just thanked you on the XAMPP post.

We can do that with IE too right

I've had experienced about this before too, and it was annoying haha...

In IE 7, it's in View->Status Bar (Alt+V, B to toggle on/off). It was one of the first things I did when get IE 7 - turn the status bar back on. Those people at MS really bother me.

lol.. why is it bothering you? are you talking about me and chrishrist...?

I'm not like MS freak or something, but I think they've pretty cool technologies. I personally like C# and their VS 2005. They also developed other things that I think is cool such as XNA, DirectX, and .NET

You guys don't bother me. I'm 100% anti-MicroSoft. Their de facto principle is code quickly and patch frequently, quality be damned. I'd rather be moderately quick, but high quality for lower necessity of patches. It's the ethic that they seem to have wrong.
