[SOLVED] Simple recommendation ?

Hi people!

I need simple recommendation

I want to make a database program like you make applications with MS Access .... entering data, viewing data and reporting.

I need this to keep records of my beehives. I need it to add beehive, queen information and how much honey is harvested, notes about beehive field, etc ....

What would be appropriate programming language and development software that is easy to learn and have gui builder and that I can make executable file in windows etc ....

It doesn't need to use database since I don't want any external servers running...it can use simple file database or xml

What path should I take to learn to make this kind of application ..... It is much like address book so it should not be hard to learn ... what do you think ? I was looking at lazarus ? ....

Excel would be good or even Access but if you must have a programmed application in which you input and view the data then i would go with something like vb.net

VB is definitely the language to go with, now that a RAD is freely available (and has been for years). Why VB? Well, VB means VisualBasic and back in the day the "Basic" part was written "BASIC" because it stood for Beginners All -purpose Symbolic Instruction Code - it has been and always will be a beginners language. Now, it is more powerful than ever, though - just be glad you're not coding in gw BASIC or apple IIe BASIC - no RAD there! lol.
