Here's what I wanted to discuss with all programmers all around the world~
Will Web Development overpower Software Development in the next few decades? Sooner or later, will there be a time where internet connection will be offered FREE for all and managed by government? **I'm not sure that it will be managed by government in the United States because that would violate Free Enterprise ideas, but it may be on the other countries such as China, Taiwan (which plan to make the whole country to be wireless), and India**

I think the Internet will never be free, it may get cheaper or faster for the same price but it definitely wont be free, web and software will always be separate i think in the next few decades, maybe century's it will be the same things as the Internet will be like a bullet so loading a piece of software will be just as instant as on a pc.

Web and software are different. There are something that web cannot be
replace software eventhough the internet are provided freely such as
game application or operating system. The only thing that I can see in the
future is that all of the software will have access to internet which made
software even greater....

As for gaming, there are many pretty cool games that's created only based on the web environment such as RuneScape - the massive online adventure game by Jagex Ltd which I think made of Java. I don't have neccessary information about whether Software Companies that develop these languages such as Sun or Microsoft will have a specific development that will enable us to create better 3D effect on Web Environment or not, but I'm pretty sure that there must be a research in a particular field...

I think runescapes the most pointless game going, but o well lol, i am sure there will be some research into that area of things i just dont think they will implement it for a while as internet speeds would need to be much quicker so at the moment it would be a little pointless i would think.

Applications will NEVER be replaced by Websites... Why? You need Applications to view the web Websites are dependant on Applications not the other way around.

that's very true.... haha.... but I guess it may be part of the operating system too these days with Linux + Mozilla Firefox and Windows + Internet Explorer (some people still do prefer use Mozilla though.. haha...)
