I like C# and Java so far, well, I actually do prefer C# more than Java just because C# is actually does run faster. Also, I don't have to worry whether the computer has JVM or not.

Although Java has its own advantage by using JVM to run everywhere, we sometimes forget that JVM is not installed on each computers in the world. Compared to Microsoft, all PCs ARE Windows installed

Hello there!!! I'm also wondering why do people choose VB.NET over C#.NET I personally love C#.NET more ... is it only preference? or it is really VB.NET much easier to understand..? (as what many people said) or... there's other..?

Well... Personally, I've been doing VB since vb3 so I am very used to its syntax. I also program in AS, C++, C#, JScript, etc... c-style languages. I would say the main advantage of vb vs. c# (besides being easier for me to whip out) is the naming schema's: For instance:

Public MustInherit Class FriendShip
End Class

I know right off the bat I can't instantiate this class.

And now that VB has Using too (not like the c# Using to import a namespace) we are all set as VB programmers

Well, I personally not familiar with VB at all.. I never touched it lol
**I'm willing to learn about it though**
since now I'm going to play around with .NET stuff, I probably would compare my experience to code .NET with VB and C# and choose my preference. I've been several VBScript on .asp pages, I'm not sure the difference.. are there 3 VB languages? or 2? VB.NET, VBScript, and VB? or only VB.NET and VBScript?

I vote for Visual Basic 6 but not for Visual Basic.Net. Why there aren't any
web programming language in here? How about PHP and ASP? Where
are they gone?

From siLenTz
Get my vote....

Classic ASP is using VB Syntax. ASP.NET can use any .NET syntax. I used to think vb6 was the bomb compared to .NET but that was before I knew the true power of .NET! I'd say play around with VB.NET 2005 for about a month and you'll NEVER turn back!
