[quote=siLenTz;2023]I vote for Visual Basic 6 but not for Visual Basic.Net. Why there aren't any
web programming language in here? How about PHP and ASP? Where
are they gone?

I guess Mr. Admin is looking for voting specifically for only programming languages instead of Web Programming languages.. I'm not that sure, but you can ask him on the feedback section? haha

I'd say play around with VB.NET 2005 for about a month and you'll NEVER turn back!
I'd surely can't wait for the power to show up

Get my vote....
If you look at the poll title it says "Programming" the ones you are asking about are scripting languages.

Classic ASP is using VB Syntax. ASP.NET can use any .NET syntax. I
used to think vb6 was the bomb compared to .NET but that was before I
knew the true power of .NET! I'd say play around with VB.NET 2005 for about
a month and you'll NEVER turn back!
I used to try VB.NET for a few days. I like some of their features but I also
dislike some. I know it is easy to move from VB6 programmer to VB.NET
programmer. But I just feel uncomfortable with VB.NET. Maybe I'm not
getting deep enough...

From siLenTz
It's nice but uncomfortable....

Why do you prefer VB 6 over VB.NET? Is there any particular reason in VB6 that's more powerful than VB.NET? Or just preference?

I personally learn VB.NET cuz I guess it's the newest technology that Microsoft offer for Web Development. And yeah, I love web development

It is not because of VB6 is more powerful than VB.NET but it is just that
I used to programming VB6 for over 5 years so I feel more comfortable with
VB6 environment than what I feel with VB.NET. Furthmore, I think my brain
are not welcome to accept any new languages.... I think my brain is DEAD

I didn't discourage you to study VB.NET. I think VB.NET is good language
but just that I cannot move.... Maybe it is not fix to me

From siLenTz
Long live basic language...

The absolutely only reason I can think of choosing VB6 over VB.net is the compile speed.

I like Java. More and more enterprise application are being developed these days and most of them uses Java. Java is language of choice for developing server side.I think with the upcoming releases and growing community the Java will rule the programming world.
