[SOLVED] I'm new to photography, but these deep coloured images amaze me. How do I create these effects? I have photoshop and am using a canon 350d and i really want to broing out the colours from my images like what i see on flickr. I'm sure you'll know what I mean!? Example image: http://www.flickr.com/photos/s0ulsurfing/444683596/

You can use the saturation adjustment in Photoshop. But be careful because too much saturation tends to degrade your image particularly if you want enlargements. I've found it better to go for the color at the time you're shooting to give yourself a good base. Filters are another good idea if you're looking to enrich color from the start. Take a look at my site at http://fstop2image.com/gallery.html. I try to capture color in my shots of the outdoors.

from looking at the first image, looks like an old Kodachrome to me. (but could be wrong..) and that film is known for good color saturation. (you've seen 'saturation' mentioned in the other answers ) If you have Photoshop, try adjusting the saturation and see what happens to your image. One of the beautiful things about PShop is that you can affect only certain portions of the image (highlights, shadows.. just the blues, just the reds etc..) Play with it! Just don't overwrite the original! LOL
