[SOLVED] in x86 assembly programing language how do you read a number and place it in

a register? the only way I can think of is reading in keys, but this will give me ascii numbers, is there another way thanks .
i am trying to read from the keyboard

Read from where?

Placing a value in a register is easy

mov reg, mem

example:

mov ax,40h (moves 40h to AX register)
