Is Torque worth it?

I was about to buy Torque Game Builder a while back ago, but for some reason I'm not sure whether it's worth of my money or not... really, anybody.. please share your experience... What kind of codes do you deal with? I tried the demo version of TGB and it seems like we're using TorqueScript, which is unpopular language in the game industry...? Please share your experience.. thanx a lot

It all depends on what you plan to do with it really. It's good for FPS's (Free play servers).

What sort of game are you planning to do?

I think if your planning to go into that industy you would be best off with C++ and Directx though a couple of other things like C# and OpenGL would probably do you well to.

what does it mean by Free play servers?
I wanted to make some kind of MMORPG, is TorqueScript object oriented? I've heard that it's really similar to C++, but I'm just wondering if collaboration between teams are also supported...

You could make an MMORPG, you could make anything as you can modify the engine with your own C/C++ functions.

With the teams do you mean like team as in team of developers or teams in-game?

Well it's possible to make an auto-updater so that when you run the game it checks for updates then if there is an update it downloads them.

Give me a couple of minutes and I'll find the resource for you.

Got it: Code : Auto-Updater for TGE/TGB/TSE :. GarageGames Might be a bit outdated.
