Hey,

I was just wondering how everyone here creates traffic for there sites and what kind of things do you have on your site which keep people coming back?

As you may have guessed from my signature, i have a forum, traffic has been coming slowly and after 2 weeks of actually trying to spreading the word i have had around 1600 unique hits to the site (in that 2 weeks).

So far i am trying to submit articles to places such as digg, pages to directories, tutorials to tutorial directories etc... All that is a work in progress and has really only started.

To keep people coming back i have setup image hosting within my forum with that i also try to produce a couple of well written tutorials when possible.

How about you lot, what do you do to increase traffic and make people come back without any budget?

try putting out internet-wide press releases (news articles) about your latest thing or whatever your doing. Submit these to all the news feeds and they'll feed other feeds and your articles will be everywhere within no time - with plenty of links to you. Also make sure you have Landing Pages and RSS Feeds. Try to get linked everywhere and anywhere that's related to your content. If you are doing a site on golf - try to trade links with every golf related site you can think of - or comment on golf blogs, or have your SIGnature in Golf Forums and post... just spread the word constantly and the world will hear
