Whats your current project?

The title says it all really.
What is you current project if you have any?
What have you learnt by doing it?
How far do you think you have left?
On a scale of 1-10 how fun is it to make?

I was in the middle of making a plug-in for iTunes but then i got a new pc which i don't use iTunes on so its been put on hold for now, my other computer has not been used since i got this computer , which means i needed a new project.

I became some what bored with my wallpaper on my desktop, i normally change it every other day, me being the person who likes VB.NET a lot decided to learn some more by making a wallpaper changer.

Its so far given me the opportunity to learn about a few things including, finding what files are in what directory, also a very big basic which is arrays, i had never had any need for them in the past but now i see how great they can be.

I would probably say i am not far off getting the basic concept working but in my aim i want to have a few properties that you can change, those being the folder you want to get the images from, the speed it changes and maybe a few more options like run when windows starts etc... Also i want these settings to be saved into an XML file so it will need to parse XML which is something i need to work on as i don't know too much when it comes to that! More learning to do. I will also add that with most of my projects i try to space it out or split it up with a game of something like AOE3 (it is at the moment), that way i don't get fed up of making it so the time may stretch out longer but its worth it

On a scale of 1 to 10 i would have to put it up at 9 or 10, its wrecked my mind a few time on the best way to declare arrays and setting up some of the loops but when i have found the answer i just want to jump around so its very rewarding.

molotov is on a distinguished road
My latest personal project has been trying to get my Gentoo Powerbook to take screenshots of a submitted URL in many browsers. My laptop is a working server with Apache/PHP/Perl and here's how it works: I use a PHP form to submit a url to my server, the server loads the URL in lots of browsers, using WINE if necessary. While the browser is open, Scrot snaps a screen shot and saves it to a publicly-viewable directory. I've run into two problems: first, apache creates child processes for every function call made in PHP. When the function is done running, Apache terminates the child process. This means that the browsers open to the URL for maybe 1/10th of a second, close immediately, and then Scrot takes a screen shot. The problem is that I'm going to have to call a Perl script and have Perl break off and create a new process for the browsers. I'm in the process of learning how the perl daemon stuff works.

Second, I'm considering just telling Xorg to use multiple screens instead of my actual display screen. As I understand it I can have my display tied to Screen0, but still render browsers and such in other screens (Screen1, Screen2, etc), and then I can direct Scrot to take screenshots of those screens.

Professionally, I'm trying to get Flash to properly display HTML that is being read from an XML file generated by a PHP CMS for a client. It sucks and is annoying. I'm not on the Flash/AS/Flex bandwagon yet, so I have to plow through it all and cludge stuff together to get it to work. Gah.

My current projects are:

1) I just finished creating a podcasting application which uses cross-site scripting to restrict listeners to authorized accounts only.
2) Fill in forms with randomized data using a Firefox plugin. I was going to code my own, but may just extend iMacros for Firefox - Script your Firefox Web Browser
3) Creating a shopping cart subsystem for membership software.
4) Reading emails sent by a leads-generating company; extracting the data and inserting into a database; providing an interface for easy editing of the data as well as reports generation; and exporting user information into Outlook.
5) Reading emails generated by a payment processor (InfusionSoft whose API bites, so I have to read emails!) and dynamically creating accounts within membership software.
6) I might create some web-based software for typing testing using text taken from Gutenberg.
7) I'm always updating my software, Content Farmer, which is a powerhouse of data processing and dynamic posting with it's own included API.
