Hi,

I want to include my JPanel in my JFrame.

The panel is set up and defined in a class called Contents which extends JPanel.

I have decared a class called Container which extends JFrame.

How can I get the JPanel into the JFrame while maintaining
these two classes ?

Alright, so assuming that content is the JPanel, here's what I usually do to create a JPanel that will be added to the JFrame. I don't think you should create JPanel as it's own class other than instantiate and set whatever variables within the JPanel as needed:

Code:
        JPanel content = new JPanel();
        content.setLayout(new BorderLayout(5, 5));
        content.add(changeColorBtn, BorderLayout.NORTH);
        content.add(left, BorderLayout.WEST);
        content.add(rite, BorderLayout.EAST);

/* .. somewhere later you need to add this JPanel named "content" to the JFrame e.g. add(buttonPanel, BorderLayout.CENTER); */
hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply. I take note that you wouldn't
normally create a class for a JPanel on its own. In this case
the JPanel held a JList which held a Vector which held Strings.

I struggled on before reading your answer and managed to
inststantiate the class holding the panel and added it to the JFrame's
ContentPane.

Thanks again.
