I learn visually, so tutorials through video's and/or college courses are the best for me...I really want to understand programming to build dynamic web site apps but I am really cautious since many tutorials start off above my head and I become discouraged (since I don't get it). I know I have to start at an entry level, I just can’t seem to find that entrance. I am picking RoR since I have read many state how efficient it is, meaning fast implementation without 1000’s of lines of coding. Thank you...

Ruby on Rails is not a beginner's thing, and definately not for visual people... you can get some good books from O'Reilly, they are very dry and not visual.

seriously, you'll hate programming unless you can think abstractly.

But it does help if you 1) skip the introduction chapter that goes on about how useful it supposedly is 2) start off with short simple tutorials that you can find in magazines like .Net or on pages like webmonkey.

A good starter programming language for visual people is Java. Ivor Horton's book I'd recommend, and there are classes all over on it. C++ is also relatively easy to find classes on. They'll help you start to think like a programmer, Ruby's advanced stuff.
