I think host gator costs a bit more but from what i have seen you get more, host gator have similar prices to ixwebhosting, i would say google dreamhosts problems (maybe with a date e.g. October 2007), then you will see some of the problems, they seem to occur daily for people.

Not long ago dreamhosts told many of its members to edit the htaccess file to block google bot, yahoo bots and more to save bandwidth apparently.
