| This is a very interesting topic. I was googling around about comparation of MySQL and PostgreSQL. According to what I have read, they said PostgreSQL have more advance features than what MySQL have, and PostgreSQL is stable than MySQL. However, MySQL run faster than PostgreSQL. In my opinion, I think MySQL have more supporters than PostgreSQL because much of PHP books talk about MySQL. From siLenTz Wait and see which one is better in the future... | In what I believe, you cannot use 2 of them in the same time because two of them are difference database software. If you use MySQL you have to have MySQL installed do it in MySQL way. But if you use PosthgreSQL then you have to do it in its way. Moreover, I think, the way of storing database of these two software are difference. If you use MySQL, they have to store in MySQL server.... From siLenTz I think.... |

| Yeah, I'm pretty sure that you can't use both PostgreSQL and mySQL at the same time of course, that wouuld be confusing!!!! but I'm just wondering whether I can use PostgreSQL with PHP as well as ASP.NETSince I'm now excited with these 2 languages. They're rocks! Haha, but for now I'm dealing more with ASP.NET probably even though I haven't figured out the problem on my laptop ![]() |

| Postrgresql kicks the butt out of MySQL (well used to)... but it had such strong support from PHP... and php made integrated functions directly for mySQL. MySQL used to suck compared to PostGres then they got innoDB tables. MySQL just recently got stord procs, triggers, etc... with mysql 5... now MySQL is catching up but it's amazing how lesser products can become more popular. __________________ Day Cares | Golf Courses | Disc Golf Courses | Campgrounds | Ice Rinks | Paintball Fields | Dentists | Plastic Surgeons | Aging Jokes Catholic Churches | Lutheran Churches | Methodist Churches | Episcopal Churches | Clean Jokes |
